Instructions

    • 1

Wear a pair of plastic gloves---surgical or cleaning will suffice---before you get started. It's always smart to protect your hands before cleaning something such as pet urine in order to avoid getting sick.

    • 2

Dab the area where your cat urinated with a dry towel. Press gently around the area to absorb excess urine. Do not rub yet. As the dry towel becomes damp with urine, replace it with a clean towel.

    • 3

Mix two cups of hydrogen peroxide with a cup of warm water in a bucket. Add two teaspoons of baking soda and stir until the soda is completely dissolved. Apply the mixture to a sponge and gently scrub the affected surface.

    • 4

Wipe up the mixture with a warm, clean, damp washcloth or towel.

    • 5

Mix one tablespoon of color-friendly laundry detergent with two cups of warm water in a bucket. Again, gently scrub the affected surface. This will further sanitize the area and will also scent it.

    • 6

Dab the area with a dry towel to absorb any remaining moisture. Wait for 24 hours to let the cushion dry completely.
