Instructions

    • 1

Spray urine spots on carpets and furniture with a safe-for-pets commercial pet odor remover. Choose an odor remover that is nontoxic to animals and children that may come in contact with the area.

    • 2

Sprinkle baking soda over urine spots while they are still wet to soak up the wetness and odor. Leave the baking soda on the spot overnight and vacuum it up the following day.

    • 3

Clean cat urine or vomit stains with a mixture of vinegar and water. Fill an empty spray bottle with two parts water and one part vinegar, and spray the stain with the mixture. Blot the area with paper towels until dry.

    • 4

Reduce litter box odors by scooping it several times a day and using an odor-eliminating variety of cat litter. Empty the litter box at least once a week and wash thoroughly. Use a hooded litter box to further reduce the amount of cat smell in that area.
