What is a camelion?
Chameleon (plural chameleons) is the common name for 202 species of lizards which have distinctive body features such as projectile tongues, zygodactylous paws, prehensile tails, skin colour change abilities or camouflage, binocular vision and stereoscopic depth perception in the upper half of their eyes. Chameleons live primarily in sub-Saharan Africa, Madagascar, and southern Europe/Middle East as far south as Malawi on the eastern side and as far southwest as South Africa's Western Cape. One species even ranges into southern Spain and Portugal while another has been brought to California, Hawaii, Florida, Arizona, and Texas in southern North America
