The series tells the story of Kasper, a black stray cat who lives on the streets of London. Kasper is chosen by the Royal Cat Council to be the new Prince of Cats, and must learn to live in Buckingham Palace while protecting his new family from danger. He discovers he has a mystical power that allows him to communicate with other animals and solve mysteries with his human friend Sarah-Jane.
The series was produced by HIT Entertainment and animated by Collingwood O'Hare. It was directed by David Skinner, and the music was composed by David Whitaker. The voice cast includes Richard Griffiths as Kaspar, Emilia Fox as Sarah-Jane, and Tim Curry as the villainous Lord Mouseworth.
