Instructions
Avoid using your hands to play with your kitten. Instead, provide your young pet with plenty of toys to enjoy -- like objects on strings, feathers and laser pointers -- without biting your hands.
Make a loud noise or say a firm "no" when the kitten bites you. Put the kitten on the floor immediately after making the noise.
Use a spray bottle filled with water if the kitten has a difficult time understanding that it shouldn't be biting. It will only take a few sprays before the kitten begins to associate the water with biting.
Apply a biting repellent to your hands before handling your kitten. Although a last resort, the repellent is often effective because it leaves your hands tasting bitter.
How to Get Your Kitten to Stop Biting You
While a new kitten can be fun for the whole family, many come with an urge to bite. Kittens that bite during play don't realize their behavior is unacceptable and require a bit of guidance using tried and tested training techniques.
