How to Keep Cats From Urinating in Flower Beds

Many cat owners choose to let their cats roam free outdoors. One downside to this is that the cats use anything outdoors as their own private litter box. This includes flower beds. So instead of smelling the wonderful fragrances that the flowers emit, you smell cat urine. You don't have to allow the cat to continue urinating in your flower beds. You can repel them with a few simple home remedies.

Add some petunias to your flower garden. Cats don't like petunias, and will begin to avoid the flower garden altogether.

Use ginger to repel the cats. Another scent cats despise is ginger. You can use the ginger around the perimeter of the flower garden so that the cats have no interest in even going in the garden in the first place.

Purchase and install a motion-activated garden sprayer. Cats hate water. When they walk past the garden sprayer it will squirt them. This will cause the cat to run in the opposite direction, instead of entering your flower garden.
