While the Persian breed is known for its flat face (brachycephalic), there are actually two distinct types within the breed:
* Traditional Persians: These have a slightly shorter nose and a rounder head than the modern Persian. They are often considered more "classic" looking.
* Modern Persians: These have a much flatter face, more pronounced eyes, and a shorter nose. This is the more commonly seen type of Persian today.
