How to Identify an Angora Cat

Angora cats are identifiable by certain physical traits. If you want to buy an Angora cat breed and want it to be a purebred, you need to understand the identifying traits to make sure you are getting a real Angora cat. If you are fooled, and the cat has more than one breed (or is not even an Angora cat), you can end up spending too much money.

Instructions

    • 1

Check the cat's fur; it should be long, fine, soft, silky and smooth.

    • 2

Check the cat's head; it should be small and slightly pointed.

    • 3

Check the cat's ears; they should be pointed and triangular. They are nearly always erect.

    • 4

Check the cat's tail; it should be long and bushy with long fur.

    • 5

Check the cat's body and paws; the body should be long, and the paws should be dainty with fur between the toes. An Angora cat also has a small chest that is not rounded as other cats' are.

Request ancestral records proving that the cat is a purebred Angora.
