How to Identify a Russian Blue Cat

Originally known as the Archangel cat, the Russian Blue is believed to be brought by sailors from the Archangel Islands. They are also believed to be the preferred pet of Russian czars and of Queen Victoria. Blues are known for being calm yet playful. They are unintrusive but affectionate. Cats of this breed are the perfect addition for a busy household that doesn't have a lot of time for pets.

      Look to the sky for color ideas. The Russian Blue is, well, blue. This breed can come in a slight variation of tints, but at the end of the day, it's still blue. The tip of each hair gets lighter as if it is dipped in silver.
