Where are most sensory receptors located?

The majority of sensory receptors are located in the head, specifically in the eyes, ears, nose, and mouth. These areas of the body are exposed to the external environment and receive a wide range of sensory information. For example, the eyes contain receptors for vision, the ears contain receptors for hearing and balance, the nose contains receptors for smell, and the mouth contains receptors for taste. The skin also contains a variety of sensory receptors, including thermoreceptors (temperature), mechanoreceptors (touch and pressure), and nociceptors (pain).
