Instructions
Determine to be a responsible breeder. Commit to producing quality dogs that are healthy, with good temperaments. A good breeder is also committed to finding good homes for all the puppies in a litter.
Only breed Dobermans that meet the standard developed for the breed. A copy of the Doberman breed standard is available at the American Kennel Club website.
Check the Dobermans you wish to breed for good health. Dobermans are susceptible to several inherited conditions. All Dobermans should have an echocardiogram to check for cardiomyopathy and a blood test to check for Von Willebrand's disease before breeding. Since Dobermans are a large breed, breeding stock should have their hips checked for hip dysplasia.
How to Breed Doberman Pinschers
The Doberman Pinscher was developed in Germany by a tax collector named Doberman. The Doberman stands 24 to 28 inches high and weighs between 60 and 85 pounds. Dobermans come in black, red, blue, and fawn, all with rust-colored markings. Breeding Dobermans requires a great deal of commitment to do it properly.
