How do anteaters give birth?

Anteaters are unique in the way they give birth. Unlike other mammals, they do not have a uterus. Instead, they have a pouch on their abdomen where their young develop. This pouch is called a marsupium.

When an anteater is ready to give birth, it will find a safe and secluded spot. Once it has found a suitable location, it will lie down and open its marsupium. The baby anteater, or pup, will then be born into the pouch.
