Find the names of local breed clubs in the area by searching breed, state and then the club listings where the dog is located. Many local breed clubs list the names of breeders on their websites, or contact the club for a list of breeders. The local club may be able to identify the dog's breeder from its registered name.
Contact the individual breeder of the dog to obtain specific information about the number of litters the bitch has whelped. If you are purchasing a puppy related to this dog, the breeder of the dam can supply you with pedigree information.
Check the AKC registry's website using the registered name of the dog to find additional information such as show records, if available, on the dog.
