How do beavers give birth?

Beaver kits are born in the spring.

- The mother beaver builds a special birthing den in her lodge, which is lined with soft materials like grass, leaves, and fur.

- The kits are born blind and helpless, and they weigh about 1 pound (0.5 kg).

- The mother beaver takes care of the kits by nursing them and keeping them warm.

- The kits start to swim and eat solid food when they are about 6 weeks old.

- They stay with their mother until they are about 2 years old, at which point they will leave the lodge and start their own families.
