How long before newborn puppies open their eyes and get active?

Puppies are usually born with their eyes closed. They typically start to open their eyes around 10 to 14 days of age, and the process is usually complete within 21 days. Puppies are born deaf as well, and they usually begin to hear around 2 to 4 weeks of age.

Once their eyes are open, puppies will begin to explore their surroundings and interact more with their mother and littermates. They will start to walk and run around 3 to 4 weeks of age, and they will begin to play around 5 to 6 weeks of age.
