What is a list of dog breeds that do not shed lot?

It's impossible to find a dog breed that doesn't shed at all, as all dogs shed to some degree. However, there are some breeds that shed significantly less than others.

Here are some breeds often considered "low-shedding" or "hypoallergenic":

Poodle (Standard, Miniature, Toy): Poodles are known for their curly coats, which trap loose hair and shed minimally.

Bichon Frise: These fluffy white dogs have a soft, cottony coat that sheds very little.

Maltese: A small, elegant breed with a long, silky coat that requires regular grooming to prevent mats and tangles.

Yorkshire Terrier: The Yorkshire Terrier's long, flowing coat is known for shedding very little, but it requires regular brushing and trimming.

Shih Tzu: A small, long-haired dog with a double coat that sheds minimally but requires frequent brushing to prevent mats.

Havanese: A cheerful, small breed with a long, silky coat that sheds minimally.

Chinese Crested: This breed has a unique, hairless appearance with tufts of hair on the head, tail, and feet. They do not shed, but they require regular baths and skin care.

Schnauzer (Standard, Miniature, Giant): Schnauzers have a wiry, double coat that sheds minimally but requires regular brushing and grooming.

Irish Water Spaniel: A large, water-loving breed with a curly, hypoallergenic coat that sheds very little.

Kerry Blue Terrier: A medium-sized breed with a soft, blue-gray coat that is considered hypoallergenic and sheds minimally.

Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier: A medium-sized breed with a silky, soft coat that sheds very little.

Remember: Even these breeds shed a little, and "hypoallergenic" doesn't mean completely allergy-free. Allergies are triggered by dander (flakes of skin) rather than hair, and all dogs produce dander.

Before getting a dog, it's always best to spend time with the breed you're interested in to see how you react to their coat. It's also important to consider the grooming needs of any breed, as low-shedding dogs often require more frequent brushing to prevent mats and tangles.
