How to Make a Husky Dog Puppet

Siberian huskies are a large breed of dog with pointy ears and a thick coat that keeps them warm in cold climates. These dogs are from Siberia and are popular in Alaska and other cold, snowy places because they are excellent sled dogs and can survive in extreme cold. Siberian huskies are friendly, playful dogs that come in many colors such as black, brown, and red, with white bellies. Making a husky puppet is a fun activity for kids; due to the variety in their colors kids can enjoy making their husky puppet unique.

Instructions

    • 1

Lay your paper bag flat on the table in front of you, displaying the side of the bag where the bottom folds up and can be seen.

    • 2

Lifting the folded tab that forms the bottom of the bag, fold its two bottom corners under to create angled edges; this creates the shape of the huskie's head. Tape the corners in place.

    • 3

Cut a tongue for your husky out of red construction paper and tape it under the folded tab that forms the bottom of the bag; tape it in place between your folded edges so that it becomes the dog's tongue.

    • 4

Cut out two white circles for the husky puppet's eyes from white paper. Cut two black, blue, or brown smaller circles for the husky's pupils; these are the colors of a husky's eyes. Tape them onto the tab that forms the bottom of the bag where the eyes would be on a dog's face. Tape the pupils over the white circles.

    • 5

Cut out ears from gray, white, black, or brown construction paper for your husky puppet; huskies have large triangular ears that stick up from the top of their heads. Tape the ears in place.

    • 6

Color on your husky puppet in gray, white, black, or brown crayons to add detail to its fur and face; huskies have white stomachs so color the husky puppet's stomach white.
