How to Register an AKC Boxer Puppy

The American Kennel Club, or AKC, is an organization geared toward furthering the health, companionship, and well-being of purebred dogs. Founded in 1884, the AKC has focused much of its attention on what features a breed should be bred for, and how those features will be good for the breed in the future. The organization is responsible for many dog shows throughout the year, ranging from obedience and agility to showmanship and breed-specific traits. The American Boxer was recognized as an AKC breed in 1904, and is one of the top ten most registered AKC dog breeds in America.
