Giant Schnauzer
-
The giant schnauzer is a large, powerful dog. They are intelligent working dogs and are easy to train. They are fierce guard dogs and because of their size need a very firm hand when being socialized. The giant schnauzer is one of the biggest breeds of dog that sheds very little and as such is a popular dog. Their dense, wiry coat needs weekly brushing and should be trimmed down about 4 times a year.
Standard Poodle
-
Rough-coated dogs also shed very little, and poodles are renowned for their very low shedding. Standard poodles are classified as a large breed of dog as opposed to miniatures. While they may not shed much, their curly coats do require a lot of grooming. Poodles are very sociable dogs that make great family pets, and if any family member has an allergy to dog hair, a poodle would make a great low-shedding family pet.

Larger Breed Dogs That Shed Little
All dogs shed at least some hair every year. Some shed such a large amount for it to be a significant problem, especially larger breeds. However there are breeds of large dogs that shed very little. People wishing to take on a large pet dog should be aware of this issue, as it may come to the fore later and result in significant problems with the new household member. Also some dogs shed their hair inward, which means it won't be scattered around the house but will need to be brushed out regularly.
