Things You'll Need
- Wet and dry commercial kibble
- Oats, fish, pork, beef, wheat, beets or roughly ground green and yellow vegetables
- Commercial or homemade treats: high-fiber biscuits or raw liver
- Bowl of fresh water
Instructions
Feed your toy poodle puppy between three and five small food portions each day. Puppies have small stomachs and additional nutrition and energy requirements. As your toy poodle grows into an adult, reduce its food intake to two feedings daily. Offer your adult toy poodle between 3 and 5 oz. of food each day.
Combine wet and dry commercial kibble or homemade dog food in you toy poodle's diet. Mix a little canned food with dry food when you feed the dog. Prepare homemade food that blends oats, fish, pork, beef, wheat, beets and roughly ground green and yellow vegetables. If you are introducing new food, offer it gradually, mixing it into the current food a little more each time to ensure your poodle's digestive system can properly assimilate it.
Offer commercial or homemade treats such as high-fiber biscuits or raw liver occasionally. Restrict the treats to use as a reward while training or for a bonus bite twice a week. Avoid overfeeding by giving small portions.
Provide a fresh supply of filtered water in a bowl at all times for your poodle to drink.
