Things You'll Need
- Brush
- Dog shampoo
- Towel
- High-quality dog food
- Fatty acid supplement
Instructions
Brush your Doberman pinscher with a short wire brush or rubber grooming brush. Dobermans shed like most other dogs, and brushing your dog once or twice a week will remove loose hair and encourage oil production that will increase shine.
Bathe your Doberman every couple of months. This breed requires less frequent baths than other breeds because of its short coat. Wash your Doberman in a bathtub with dog shampoo, and rinse well. Dry the dog with a clean, dry towel.
Feed your dog foods that promote healthy skin. A high-quality dog food made specifically for Doberman pinschers will provide the nutrients your dog needs for a beautiful coat.
Give your Doberman a supplement that contains omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids to keep the skin and coat healthy.
Schedule regular visits to the veterinarian. The vet will be able to prevent and detect early signs of infection and parasites, which can cause problems for your dog's coat if left untreated.
