Contact the American Kennel Club to ask them how much French bulldogs typically cost. The French bulldog is a recognized purebred dog, and they will be able to put you in contact with breeders across the United States who will answer the question of cost.
Contact several breeders of French bulldogs in your area to compare prices. If you know a few breeders nearby, call them and ask how much they sell their puppies. A good breeder is more than willing to answer any questions you might have, even if they are about cost. Compare the price estimates the breeders give you to determine what a normal price range is.
Join a forum dedicated to French bulldogs and ask the members how much they paid for their dog, and where they bought their dog from. Forum members are a great resource because they have already completed the purchase of a puppy---use their experience to your advantage to determine how much your pup should cost.
Ask anyone you might know or come across who owns a French bulldog. If you know someone who has a French bulldog, ask this person (politely) if he/she would tell you how much the breed normally sells for.
How to Determine Prices for French Bulldog Puppies
If you are planning on buying French bulldog, chances are you have already resigned yourself to living with a dog that snorts and snuffs his way through life. However, you must also be prepared to spend a lot of money, as French bulldogs---like many purebred dogs---are expensive to purchase. Before you purchase a puppy, it is important to look into how much the puppies actually cost---purchasing a dog for too little is often an indication that the breeder is substandard. You obviously want to avoid paying more than you have to for a quality dog.
