Instructions
Feed your dog quality dog food designed for a mastiff puppy. A mastiff puppy requires a different diet from an adult, and both require a different diet from other dogs. Mastiffs do well on a pure meat diet.
Feed puppies a meat feed with 25 to 27% protein and 12 to 15% fat. Once the dog is one year old, he should be fed with dog food that has 21 to 25% protein and 8 to 10% fat. Once the dog is 5 years old, he should be fed with dog food that contains less than 21% protein.
Feed your dog frequently when he is a puppy.
When your dog is 4 to 8 weeks old, feed him 3 to 4 cups of food, 3 to 4 times a day.
When your dog is 8 to 12 weeks old, feed him 4 to 6 cups of food, 3 to 4 times a day.
When your dog is 12 to 16 weeks old, feed him 5 to 7 cups of food, 3 to 4 times a day.
Reduce the frequency of feedings as your puppy grows older.
When your dog is 4 to 6 months old, feed him 6 to 8 cups of food, 3 times a day.
When your dog is 6 to 8 months old, feed him 8 to 12 cups of food, 2 times a day.
Play gently with your puppy and take him on slow, short walks. A growing mastiff should never be exercised too hard, as his bones and frame are still developing. Over-exercising your mastiff can result in long-term injuries that can affect his growth.
How to Make My Mastiff Bulky
Mastiffs are the largest breed of dog in the world. According to Mastiff Web, the average fully grown Mastiff weighs between 180 and 220 lbs, with one of the largest specimens weighing in at 350 lbs. Mastiffs will grow the most during their first three years. This period is critical for the maturation of the dog, and for its healthy physical development. As long as the Mastiff gets the proper care, he will grow into a healthy, bulky and happy adult.
