Welsh Corgis come in a variety of colors including sable, black, tan, fawn and red; all of which may or may not feature white markings. Corgis have two coats--the undercoat is thick and short, while the outer coat is coarse and longer.

The Welsh Corgi, more commonly known as the Pembroke Welsh Corgi, is an unusual breed of canines that have been around since the early 10th century. Corgis are part of a Nordic group of canines that also include the Pomeranian, the Chow Chow and the Samoyed. The Pembroke Welsh Corgi was first officially recognized in 1934 by both the American Kennel Club and the United Kingdom Kennel Club.
