How to Register a Mixed Breed Dog

A mixed-breed dog̵7;s heritage includes two or more pure breeds. Dogs that are considered pure-bred are recognized by registry clubs such as the American Kennel Club as having met breed standards and a recordable lineage. Although mixed breeds cannot meet a breed standard, they can be registered with several registry clubs. Registration of a mixed breed allows the dog to enter club-sponsored competitions.
