How to Potty Train an English Bulldog

English bulldogs are among the gentlest of the dog species. They will guard and protect the ones they love without regard to consequence, because they are very loyal pets. They are short dogs with a lot of skin, and can be all different colors. It is very important to establish healthy habits like eating, sleeping and grooming for your English bulldog. Just like with any other dog, you must teach them who is the alpha in your relationship and train them with gentleness and love. It is also important to crate train your English bulldog because it will add structure and make them easier to train; bulldogs like to have their own space to go. Crate training is recommended over wicker items because English bulldogs love to tear things up, and wire metal crates are more durable.

Instructions

    • 1

Show your bulldog exactly where you want him or her to relieve themselves.

    • 2

Take them out first thing in the morning and stand with them until they go.

    • 3

Feed them for 15 to 30 minutes at a time, and then take them outside about 10 minutes after they get done eating.

    • 4

Do not spank or yell at your bulldog when they have accidents. Simply take them outside and then clean up the mess.

    • 5

Reward your bulldog with love and affection. Do not offer treats as this will make them have to go again.
