Appearance

The appearance of the breed can vary slightly, but generally Anatolian shepherd dogs have a sturdy build and a short (1 inch) to rough (4 inch) coat that can vary in color, normally fawn, brindle, red or sable.
Lifespan

Anatolian shepherd dogs are longer lived than other dogs their size. Their average lifespan is between 12 and 15 years.
Temperament

Anatolian shepherd dogs are independent and protective. This means that they are generally more difficult to train than other dogs, and may be standoffish and reserved around strangers.

About Anatolian Shepherds
Anatolian shepherd dogs are a giant breed that have recently become popular as guard dogs and shepherds in the United States. Dogs from this breed are fairly intelligent and loyal, and can reach heights of 28 to 32 inches at the shoulder and weigh between 90 and 145 pounds.
