How Big Do Labradoodles Get?

The intelligent, happy and sociable Labradoodle was originally bred to be a service dog, but it has come to be known as a wonderful companion as well. This popular breed comes in three sizes.
  1. Standard Size

    • The standard size Labradoodle generally reaches 20 to 24 inches in height and 45 to 60 lbs. in weight but can grow larger, depending on the parents' sizes.

    Medium Size

    • The medium size Labradoodle should measure 17 to 20 inches at the shoulders and 30 to 45 lbs. in weight.

    Miniature Size

    • The miniature Labradoodle can measure from 14 to 16 inches in height and can weigh 15 to 25 lbs.

    • In 1989, Wally Conran of the Royal Guide Dogs Of Australia began crossing a standard poodle with a Labrador retriever to develop an ideal service dog.
