How to Adopt a Great Pyrenees in California
A Great Pyrenees is a giant breed of dog that is often overlooked. Huge, white and fluffy, resembling an overgrown white golden retriever, the Great Pyrenees originally was bred to be a herding dog to cover mountainous areas, tending to sheep. If you're thinking of adopting a Pyrenees for a family pet, a male Pyrenees can be protective of his little family group, will keep track of people and children and will help keep everyone organized. A female Pyrenees is less dominant but still very smart and gentle with children. These dogs are big and galumphy as puppies and young adults, so they may tend to knock smaller children over accidentally in their desire to love them. If you're in California, there are a few ways to find a Pyrenees in need who is looking for a home just like yours!
