How to Clean the Area Under a Bulldog's Jowls

You can easily identify a bulldog by its trademark wrinkled face and loose, hanging jowls. Bulldogs are low-maintenance dogs. However, because of their loose jowls they tend to slobber food and water around them, and drool after meals. You must clean and dry the area under your bulldog̵7;s jowls after every meal, and when it returns from the outdoors. Regular cleaning around the jowls will ensure your bulldog̵7;s well-being and prevent an accumulation of bacteria that can cause yeast infections.

Instructions

    • 1

Wipe the area around your bulldog̵7;s jowls thoroughly with a soft damp cloth or baby wipe.

    • 2

Dip an ear bud in a little commercial sterile eye wash. Run the ear bud on the wrinkles surrounding your dog̵7;s jowls and on any skin folds on its face. Allow it to dry for three minutes to loosen up any dirt that may have lodged in this area.

    • 3

Gently rub the area with a small ball of cotton wool to remove any residual dirt. Repeat this process of rubbing with cotton wool until the cotton wool ball comes out clean.

    • 4

Dip a new ear bud in a little cornstarch and run it on the wrinkles around your dog̵7;s jowls and on any skin folds on its face. The cornstarch will help to dry the area completely and keep it moisture-free.
