Bathtime
-
It̵7;s best to give your pug a bath two days before the show. Bathing the pug will make its coat very fluffy, which could be a disadvantage at the show, but within a couple of days it will have returned to its normal texture. Give your pug a treat afterward so that it will remember there is a reward after bath time.
Coat
-
Trim any stray hairs on the chest, legs and whiskers. Give the pug̵7;s coat a good brush with a stiff bristle brush, then stroke and pat it afterward to bring out the coat̵7;s natural oils. Pugs can shed a lot of hair, so remove any loose hairs.
Cleaning
-
The wrinkles on a pug̵7;s face can accumulate sweat and dirt, so clean these gently with a cotton swab. Clean its ears as well to remove wax and don̵7;t forget to give it a treat after, as some dogs might find the cleaning uncomfortable.
Nails
-
A pug̵7;s nails only need to be trimmed once a month, but if you notice they are too long before show time, use a sharp trimmer that̵7;s manufactured specifically for dogs to cut them, taking care to not cut them too short.

Grooming Pugs for the Show Ring
Pugs are a small breed of dog with a curly tail and short, glossy hair. They are characterized by having a wrinkled-up face and they can come in a variety of colors. Pugs are lucky enough to not need too much extra care before going into the show ring, because of their short hair. Its normal grooming routine should be sufficient.
