Things You'll Need
- Slicker brush
- Comb
- Shampoo
- Conditioner
- Blow dryer
- Clipper with attachments
- Scissors
Instructions
Brush your goldendoodle with a slicker brush, then comb through its coat with a metal comb. This helps remove matted hair, making the grooming process easier.
Wash your dog with a mild dog shampoo and conditioner, then blow dry its coat thoroughly. Give the coat another comb-through, to remove any remaining tangles.
Choose the blade suitable for your desired length. Different blades produce a different length haircut. The lower the blade number, the longer the finished cut.
Clip the face so that the hair blends into the neck. Trim the hair just above the eyes with a scissors. Attach a 1-inch comb to the clipper, and move it twice down each cheek. Clip the chest hair nearest the start of the rib cage shorter, and taper it down to the front of the chest. Cut the back, sides and belly along the direction that the hair grows. Use a 1-inch comb attachment on the clipper to clip these areas, as well.
Clip the legs downward, using a 1-inch comb and a number 30 blade. Comb the hair on the legs upward, and trim away stray wisps of hair with scissors. Trim the feet, starting from the front. Trim close to the feet, making sure not to trim too close, so that you can see the pads.
