Things You'll Need
- Clean, soft cloths
- Dog shampoo
- Cotton swabs
- Petroleum jelly
- Tear stain solution
Instructions
Wet a clean, soft cloth with warm water. Apply a few drops of dog shampoo to the cloth. Gently wash the sides and top of your dog̵7;s face, as well as around the nose and mouth. Rub the cloth carefully over the face and avoid getting any soap in your pug̵7;s eyes. Wet another clean, soft cloth with warm water. Wring out the cloth and rub down your pug̵7;s face once more. This gets rid of any shampoo.
Soak the tip of a cotton swab in warm water. Place one hand on the top of your pug̵7;s head. Gently insert the tip of the swab into the fold of skin located across your pug̵7;s nose. Insert the swab at one side of the fold. Run the swab across the fold to the other side. This gets rid of any food and dirt in the fold. Repeat with other wrinkles on your dog's face.
Dip a fresh cotton swab in petroleum jelly. Insert the tip of the cotton swab into the fold once more. Run the swab across the fold to the other end. This applies a thin layer of petroleum jelly in the fold. The petroleum jelly helps prevent water from settling in the fold. Repeat with other deep wrinkles on your dog's face.
Apply a small amount of tear stain solution to a cotton ball. Tip your pug̵7;s head slightly upward. Carefully wipe the area directly underneath each eye with the cotton ball. If your pug lets you, hold the ball on the area for a few seconds. This solution helps get rid of tear stains and the smell from tear stains.
