Things You'll Need
- Cotton ball
- Dog ear cleaner
Instructions
Handle your Goldendoodle's ears regularly so he's used to the touch. Touch his ears and give him treats so he learns to associate the touch with good things and won't be frightened of the contact; when he is comfortable with a simple touch, move on to lifting and inspecting his ears.
Wet a cotton ball with the dog ear cleaning solution. Make sure you are using a formula specifically designed for dog's ears rather than general cleaning, because this is a sensitive area.
Wipe your dog's ear clean with the cotton ball. Don't push too far into the ear canal, making sure to stop as soon as you meet resistance.
Check to make sure you've gotten any debris or built up wax out of your pup's ear.
Dampen a second cotton ball and rewipe your goldendoodle's ear to get the cleaner off and make sure everything's nice and clean.
Repeat Steps Three to Five for the other ear.
Wipe off the outside of the dog's ears with a damp cloth to remove dirt. Depending on the length of fur on your goldendoodle's ears, you may also want to brush the fur or consider trimming it.
