- Rubber curry brush
Instructions
Brush your dog̵7;s coat daily with a slicker brush, shed blade or coat rake, to remove clumps of loose hair. Move the brush against the hair growth, right down to the surface of the skin. Start from the head and move the slicker brush down towards the back.
Spray the coat with some detangling spray formulated for horses, if your dog has matted hair or if you find it difficult to comb. The detangling spray untangles matted hair and prevents it from breaking.
Extract fleas from your dog̵7;s coat with a flea comb. Divide the coat into sections and run the flea comb through it, starting from the root through to the ends. If your dog has a flea infestation, treat it with flea powder or a flea collar. Consult your vet if the infestation persists.
Use electric clippers to slightly trim excess hair from between the paw pads. Take care not to clip the hair completely from this area.
Bathe your dog once or twice a year, or whenever it sheds its coat. Wash its body with warm water and a mild dog shampoo or baby shampoo. Use a rubber curry brush to gently rub its body and dislodge dirt and matted fur. Rinse well with warm water and towel dry thoroughly.
