Instructions
Shampoo the Pomeranian in warm water, using a quarter-size dollop of shampoo applied directly to the coat, or a dilution of about three parts water to one part shampoo. Follow the shampoo manufacturer̵7;s directions for best results.
Condition the Pomeranian̵7;s coat, using a handful of conditioner and following the manufacturer̵7;s directions as printed on the conditioner̵7;s packaging or bottle. This will soften and flatten the coat hairs and untangle some of the mats in the coat.
Towel-dry the excess water from the dog̵7;s coat and apply a leave-in conditioner, following the manufacturer̵7;s directions.
Blow-dry the coat on a medium to low dryer setting.
Brush the coat, working from head to tail, using smooth brush strokes. Part the hair into manageable sections and brush it with a forward stroke to make the process a bit easier.
Comb through the entire coat, from head to tail, to remove any mats or tangles that were not removed during the brushing process.
Untangle any mats in the coat as needed, by using your fingers to free the tangled hairs. Cut out any mats that cannot be untangled with your fingers using scissors, cutting as sparingly as possible.
Maintain the softness and cleanliness of the coat between washings by applying a dry shampoo and brushing.
Boost the sheen on the coat by spraying a diluted mist of conditioner on to a brush and brushing the coat. A dilution of one part conditioner to four parts water should suffice.
