Things You'll Need
- Comb
- Blunt tip scissors
Instructions
Position the dog so that you have easy access to the head. You can put the dog on a table or sit on the floor with the dog between your legs.
Comb the hair on the face from the roots to the ends to remove all tangles and knots.
Grab a small section of hair on the top of the head between the index and middle finger, hold at the desired length, and cut the extra hair. Continue cutting in sections until you have trimmed the top of the head, eyebrows and in between the eyes so that the dog can see. If you choose to leave the hair on the top of the head long, you will have to tie it in a top knot to keep the hair out of the dog's eyes.
Comb the beard from underneath the eyes to the jaw line down and trim it to the desired length. Cut the beard the same length as the hair on top of the head to achieve the puppy-cut look. Cut the beard rounded around the face to achieve the modified Westie cut.
Comb the hair on the ears down and trim to the desired length.
