How to Attach Dog Bows

If you are entering your pooch into a dog show or simply wish to give her hair a pretty style, you can attach a dog bow to the fur on the head. While the concept is pretty simple, it's still important that you take a few precautionary steps to make sure you are not causing discomfort for your dog. The proper brush and correct area to attach the bow will make the task go by with little effort.

Instructions

    • 1

Brush the hair directly on top of the head straight up using a paddle bristle brush. This type of brush will be gentle on the dog's scalp and evenly distribute the natural oils to create shine.

    • 2

Gather a small section from the hair you have brushed up. Make sure that the ears are unaffected by the pulled section.

    • 3

Wrap the rubber band attached to the dog bow around the grouping of hair until the hair is secure, but not pulled tight.

    • 4

Use your fingers to pull the bow around to face the front.
