Things You'll Need
- Scissor or dog shears
- Dog brush or comb
- Towel
Instructions
Place your dog on a large towel. The towel will pick up hair as you trim and cut down on clean-up time.
Brush the area around your dog's mouth, ensuring you remove all the knots or snags.
Hold the end of the hair around your dog's mouth firmly between your thumb and index finger. Gently pull the hair so it is straight and taut.
Trim the hair around the mouth slowly. While the exact length of your dog's hair will differ by breed and personal preference, do not to cut too closely to the skin or lip.
Brush the area around your dog's mouth to ensure you cut it evenly. Trim any uneven hairs.
