Instructions
Maintaining A Chi-poo's Coat
Bathe your Chi-poo before clipping its hair, using a natural, hypoallergenic shampoo. Towel-dry the dog gently when the bath is finished; then brush out its fur to release any tangles.
Clip your Chi-poo's hair using dog clippers. Use a No. 5 or 7 clipper blade to cut all the dog's hair to the same manageable length, starting with the head and continuing back over the body.
Use a No. 15 blade for close cropping of the face and feet.
Brush your Chi-poo's fur every day with a bristle brush. Because of their poodle blood, Chi-poos are light shedders, but debris and tangles can accumulate in the coat if you neglect this ritual.
General Grooming
Cut your Chi-poo's nails regularly. When you can hear them clicking on the floor, it's time for a nail clipping. Position the clippers so that you do not cut into the quick, or the pink inside, of the nail.
File the sharp edges of the nails down with a metal nail file.
Clean an adult Chi-poo's teeth every other day with a dog toothbrush and toothpaste, and have a vet administer an annual oral cleaning.
Wipe the insides of a Chi-poo's ears once a week, or whenever they become dirty, with an ear-cleaning solution on a cotton ball to remove wax and dirt.
