What Blades Work With Wahl Clippers?

Wahl clippers are used to groom animals such as dogs. If Wahl brand replacement blades are not an option, there are some other brands of replacement clipper blades that will also work with Wahl-brand animal clippers. Most Wahl clippers have one of three shapes: a rectangular-shaped blade with rounded corners at the base, a rounded or oval shape or a triangular shape.
  1. Wahl Replacement Blades

    • When looking for the same blade as your original, examine the shape of the blade needing replaced and the cutting size on the blade. If the numbers are not present or cannot be found, use the shape of the blade and the number of hardware holes to find a matching Wahl replacement blade.

    Andis Replacement Blades

    • Many Andis clipper replacement blades are interchangeable with Wahl brand clippers and can be purchased at online pet grooming suppliers as well a most local pet supply stores. Like Wahl clipper blades, Andis makes a few different shapes to fit the various modes of clippers, such as the standard rectangle with rounded base edges with two hardware holes and the short rectangular base replacement blade with two hardware holes.

    Oster Replacement Blades

    • Oster clipper replacement blades will also fit Wahl clippers. However, like with all clipper blades, there are a few different shapes to choose from, such as full-sized clipper blades and those that are triangular to fit trimming clippers. Most pet grooming supply stores carry Oster blades and clippers as well.

    Considerations

    • Some lesser-known brands that are unique to certain locations in the United States may also be used as replacement blades to fit your Wahl clippers. The shape of the blade and the number of hardware holes are the two most common factors in determining if a non-Wahl brand blade will fit a set of Wahl clippers.
