Instructions
Brushing and Cutting
Fill a spray bottle with half water and half dog hair conditioner, preferably a no-cry brand to protect your puppy's eyes. The water-conditioner mix softens the hair and eases the brushing process. Skipping this part increases the chance of the brush getting tangled in knotted hair and causing a small amount of pain.
Remove large hair knots with your fingers.
Comb your puppy's fur with a pin brush. Work your way around the entire coat until all knots are removed.
Cut the dog's hair so that no hair is touching the floor. Cut hair out of the ears as well.
Washing
Wash out your kitchen sink and place a plastic mat on the bottom. Fill with lukewarm water. Fill just enough, so your puppy can sit in a pool of water.
Add no-cry puppy shampoo to the water and mix together to create suds.
Place your puppy into the sink gently. When fully inside, give the puppy a treat to create a positive association with the bath.
Wash the fur with your hands, working your way around the puppy's body. Avoid the eyes and inside of the ears.
Drain the sink and rinse of you puppy. Make sure to rinse off hard-to-reach spots such as the stomach and legs. Immediately dry off with a towel and give another treat.
