Instructions

    • 1

Give your dog a bath in the bathtub, or take him into the back yard and give him a bath with a garden hose. Wet his fur, apply shampoo twice, and finish with conditioner. Your dog will shed less if his fur is healthy and soft.

    • 2

Dry your dog off with towels. Use a brush and a blow dryer with a low heat setting to dry your dog's hair.

    • 3

Use a carding tool to work any dead hair off of your dog. Start at one end and slowly work the carding tool through your dog's fur, collecting shedded fur as you go.

    • 4

Brush your dog's fur at least once a week. Repeat the bathing and carding process every four to six weeks.

    • 5

Switch your dog to a dog food that is high in omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids for optimum fur health. Sticking to this regimen will improve the look of his coat and reduce the amount he sheds.
