How to Manufacture Dog Shampoo

Hard economic times have forced many of us to give up the luxuries we are accustomed to, including pricey shampoo for our furry friends. You can make a shampoo that cleans as well as the shampoo your professional groomer uses but does not break the bank. With a few smart tips, you can produce your own pH-balanced shampoo that will leave your pets clean, happy and healthy.

Things You'll Need

  • 16 ounce bottle of liquid dish detergent (Palmolive or Dove brands)
  • 1 teaspoon of glycerin
  • 1 empty shampoo bottle (larger than 16oz)

      Wash out the empty shampoo bottle with warm water until all of the shampoo is removed. All the shampoo is removed when the water appears without soap bubbles.

      Open the new 16oz bottle of Palmolive or Dove brand dish soap and pour into the newly cleaned empty shampoo bottle.

      Pour 1 teaspoon of glycerin into the shampoo bottle containing the dish soap, screw the cap on firmly, and shake vigorously for one minute. Once the bottle has been thoroughly mixed you will have a homemade dog shampoo worthy of your pet's affection.
