How to Use Household Products to Help Reduce Pet Odors on Pets

Pets can make wonderful companions but their natural odor can be off-putting. Store-bought pet shampoos can be expensive and contain chemicals to which many owners would rather not expose their pet. It is possible to make a homemade pet wash using household products and reduce pet odors.

  • Bottle container
  • Glycerine
  • Liquid dish soap
  • Apple cider vinegar
  • Water

      Open the bottle container that you want to hold the homemade pet wash.

      Mix 4 ounces of glycerin, 1 pint of liquid soap, 1 pint apple cider vinegar and 1 pint water into the bottle container, then shake the bottle vigorously.

      Wet your pet's coat with water.

      Apply the homemade wash to your pet's coat and massage it into a lather using your fingertips.

      Flush your pets coat of the wash using water.
