Instructions
Look on the back of the Andis clipper for the model number, which will be printed on the surface or molded into the material. The model number can be a series of letters, numbers or both. Not all blade sizes fit in all clippers, so you'll need to have the model number with you when you are purchasing the clipper. The packaging will indicate which blades are compatible with which models.
Choose between an UltraEdge blade or a CeramicEdge blade. UltraEdge blades have a special chrome finish that diminishes corrosion while maintaining its cutting performance. This is an optimum blade for pets that need constant grooming. CeramicEdge blades are finished with a certified zirconium oxide ceramic. The blades are 75-percent cooler than steel when in use. This characteristic makes CeramicEdge blades the perfect choice for pets with dense or long hair.
Choose the blade based on the pet's hair length. Every blade has a number molded on it. The number refers to the preferred length of the pet's hair after the pet is groomed. The number will be followed by a measurement, either inch or mm for millimeter. Some blades have two numbers, separated by a slash sign. The first number is the hair length in inches, and the second number is the hair length in millimeters.
How to Choose the Right Andis Clipper Blade for Pet Grooming
Andis has been manufacturing electric clippers since 1921. In addition to its beauty shop and barber clippers, Andis supplies clippers and replacement blades for small and large animal grooming. When it's time for your pet to be groomed, you can skip the professional appointment and do the work yourself. Once you have your Andis clipper, you will need to choose the right blade for it. There are different blade sizes and different blade finishes.
