Things You'll Need
- Dog brush
- Scissors
- Electric hair trimmer
- Tweezers
- Plastic tub
- Pet shampoo
- Towel
- Blow Dryer
Instructions
Place your pet Maltese on a towel on top of a table.
Brush your dog's fur thoroughly to get rid of any knots. Because Maltese dogs have long hair, make sure to brush both the top and bottom layers.
Slowly and evenly cut your dog's long coat. Use the scissors to trim the main body of the animal.
Utilize the electric trimmer to groom the harder to reach and tiny parts of the Maltese such as the area around the ears, the top of the feet and the stomach. If you find any hairs growing out from the inside of the Maltese's ears, remove them carefully using tweezers.
Bathe your dog when you are done with the hair cut. Place your pup in a small tub or your own bath tub and lather the Maltese with pet shampoo. Rinse thoroughly.
Blow dry the dog's coat on a low heat setting after the bath. This will help to get rid of excess loose hairs as well as keep the dog warm.
