How to Remove Ink From a Pet

Pets can get themselves into all sorts of situations, and sometimes their natural curiosity can get them into messes. But if a pet somehow manages to stain their fur with ink, it's not a permanent mark. Cleaning the area with some products that are obtainable from a drugstore or supermarket can usually reduce the appearance of the stain or remove it altogether.

Instructions

    • 1

Fill the bucket with warm water. Take care to not overheat the water, to the point where it could burn the pet or make it uncomfortable.

    • 2

Add one or two tablespoons of dish soap to the water and mix it together.

    • 3

Dip the sponge in the soap and water mixture.

    • 4

Rub the sponge back and forth along the stained area, rubbing with some force if the stain proves to be difficult to remove. However, do not rub so hard it proves uncomfortable or painful for the pet.

    • 5

Rinse the cleaned area with clean water. Then checked the stained area to see if the ink is still visible or fading.

    • 6

Repeat the scrubbing until the stain is completely removed. It may need to be repeated several times depending on the severity of the stain.

    • 7

Pour a small amount of rubbing alcohol on the stain if soapy water does not affect it. Scrub the area with the sponge, and then rinse it thoroughly with soap and clean water before letting the pet go. Do not let the pet consume the alcohol.
