How to Raise a Dog to a Comfortable Level for Bathing

Part of owning a dog is making sure your dog is well cared for, which includes providing food, shelter and playtime. You also need to make sure your dog is properly groomed. Different breeds of dog require slightly different grooming habits; however, one thing all dogs have in common is that they all need to bathed. If you have trouble bathing your dog, it might be an easier task to complete if you raise the dog to a comfortable level before you start the bathing process.

Instructions

    • 1

Put your dog in the room or area before the bath starts. Allow him to get familiar with the area and remove any objects that he might hurt himself on.

    • 2

Place a nonslip mat inside the tub or basin you plan to bathe your dog in.

    • 3

Place a rubber storage bin inside the tub or basin to raise your dog. Be sure it's large enough for your dog to comfortably stand on it. The combination of the rubber material and nonslip mat will help keep the second tub or basin in place.

    • 4

Flip over a large tub or basin if you're bathing your dog outside. Your dog can stand on this surface, which will raise the dog to a more comfortable level while bathing.
