Can You Give Your Dog a Bath With Vinger?

Vinegar is claimed to have many uses, not only around the home, but for your dog as well. It is a natural cleaner with no harmful chemicals and costs a fraction of what harsh chemical-based products cost. White vinegar is made from 100 percent grain and distilled water. Cider vinegar is made from 100 percent corn and apples and water. Both varieties are then diluted to achieve its 5 percent acidity.
  1. Dog Uses of Vinegar

    • There are several suggested benefits for vinegar on your dog. A mixture of half vinegar and half water in a spray bottle has many uses. Spraying your dogs' bed can help to deter fleas, as well as spraying your dogs' fur can do the same. A solution of vinegar and water also helps with itchy skin, ringworm and even skunk odors as part of the bath of your dog.

    Bathing your Dog

    • Bathe your dog in a mixture of one cup of vinegar and one gallon of water to rid your dog of fleas.

A bath with the vinegar mixture also makes your dogs' coat soft and shiny.

A bath with 1 liter of vinegar mixed with one quarter cup of baking soda and 1 teaspoon of dish soap removes skunk odors on your dog.

You also can wet a rag with a vinegar mixture and wipe down your dog after the bath. Let him air dry. Your dog will not smell of vinegar for long once he dries.

    Precautions

    • Be careful not to get the vinegar mixture in your dogs' eyes. Avoid a vinegar solution on your dog if he has open sores.
